Opening Branch Cyprus North

The ceremonial opening of the branch in Northern Cyprus was conducted with the President of Parliament Zorlu Töre and by the President of DMW Prof. Günther Meinel from Germany and was broadcast live by television stations. Vice President Prof. Serhat Akpinar shone with perfect preparation.

In the festive setting with the anthems of the participating states, the ribbon of the opening was cut by the President of Parliament Zorlu Töre, Prof. Günther Meinel and the Vice President Prof. Serhat Akpinar of DMW. The President of DMW, Prof. Günther Meinel described the tasks of the branch, the commitments and also the expectations to finally resolve the Cyprus conflict. It should shine as an island of peace.

The Vice President, Prof. Serhat Akpinar, who has already represented DMW at the United Nations three times as a speaker, explained the significance of the branch and at the same time the obligation to set a signal of peace in the world. As Chancellor of 6 renowned universities, he emphasized education as a responsibility towards the UN in the education program until 2030. The established workplace for the President of DMW will provide the strength and "power" to solve the tasks.
