"Diplomaten International" and the partner organization "Diplomatic Council" enjoy special consultative status (Special Consultative Status to the UN) at the UN, the highest status that a non-governmental organization can achieve. Thus, they propose new projects to the United Nations with their expert council and participate in an advisory capacity in ECOSOC meetings.
The host organization of the conference in Poland, the KRPUT Rectors, is a democratic and state-supported organization that provides its services to science. The focus is primarily on supervisory activities over the quality of teaching at Polish universities and colleges. However, the Accreditation Committee as well as the National Center for Science for Research and Development of the country's scientific tasks are also under their supervision.
Prof. Dr. Tadeusz Więckowski, one of the most respected scientists in Poland, chaired the conference.
Dr. Meinel, President of "Diplomaten International", was not only invited to participate but also asked to give a lecture. It was of particular concern to him to especially recognize Prof. Więckowski's commitment to training excellent specialists at technical universities in Poland. So Dr. Meinel also appointed him to the Honorary Presidium of "Diplomaten International", whereby his voice carries particular weight within the framework of the UN education initiative. In the course of his work at the Technical University of Wroclaw, he has long been intensively committed to promoting the training of scientists in Poland.
Further, Meinel emphasized in his lecture the importance of education, especially for resource-poor countries. For there, education is the most important "natural resource", as Meinel put it. Good education provides all peoples with access to better living conditions. And knowledge is the currency with which countries assert themselves on the world market.
Dr. Meinel also presented the concrete programs and educational goals that enable practical training of engineers in industry and business through experimental systems.
Andreas Hart, Board Member of "Diplomaten International" and Managing Director of Lucas-Nülle GmbH, also emphasized in his contribution the importance of using experimental training systems for engineers and referred to the successful cooperation with many technical universities around the world.
His business partner and also Board Member of "Diplomaten International", Dipl. Ing. Rolf Lucas Nülle unfortunately could not attend the event, but sent his best wishes to the rectors through his colleagues.
In addition to Prof. Więckowski, Magistra Joanna Pająk was also honored. For years, she has been leading global cooperation as Director of International Relations at Politechnika Wroclaw University. She organizes and documents all processes, meetings, conferences and professional encounters. For her merits in good partnerships between Polish universities and other institutions around the world, Dr. Meinel appointed her on behalf of "Diplomaten International" as Director for Cooperation with Poland.
And shortly after her appointment to the new honorary position, Mrs. Pajak already had new ideas for further cooperation, such as a professors' conference for professional exchange in Cologne.
It was a successful conference that stood entirely in the spirit of the credo of "Diplomaten International": For international understanding, for education and for the preservation of peace!
