Chairman Günther Meinel presented Ambassador Dr. Harald Malmgren with the appointment certificate for the INGO board as an advisor and wished for further impulses for the organization’s development.
Dr. Harald Malmgren is regarded worldwide as an expert on investments in global trade. Today he advises governments. He began his public service under President Kennedy as advisor to the Secretary of Defense. Under President Johnson, he became the first Assistant US Trade Representative. As a highly esteemed advisor to the US government, he left public service and taught at the top universities in the United States.
He was a research associate with Nobel laureate Thomas Schelling, where he completed his doctorate summa cum laude. At the University of Oxford, he taught under Nobel laureate Sir John Hicks and authored several internationally acclaimed academic works. Many renowned universities courted him. However, he moved into business, developing strategies for international corporations, banks, and sovereign funds. With his research on global financial markets, he is today a sought-after advisor and lecturer.
