The laudation says, among other things, in excerpts:
"Come, whoever you are!" – Mevlana
"The earth that was given to us looks so benevolent from space, may we always remind people that this gift is not abused and destroyed. Reconciliation must become the character strength of all and people must not lose the strength for constant dialogues! Constant peace and its preservation characterize the wisdom of civilized individuals." – Dr. Günther Meinel
On February 24, 2015, the organization Diplomaten International received the Mevlana Peace Prize. The prize is dedicated to the philosopher Mevlana, who was born on September 30, 1207 in Balkh in medieval Khorasan, today in Afghanistan, and died on December 17, 1273 in Konya. He coined a phrase that is crucial for world peace: "Come, whoever you are!". Mevlana is still revered today as a master of peace.
In his thank-you speech, Chairman Dr. Günther Meinel referred to the constant dialogue with Islam and its peacefulness. Here the chairman also specifically addressed the progress in Turkey. The distancing from Islamists and the transformation of their worldview toward humanity is one task, another is the acceptance of all people for peaceful coexistence. Meinel explained: "The earth that was given to us looks so benevolent from space, may we always remind people that this gift is not abused and destroyed. Reconciliation must become the character strength of all and people must not lose the strength for constant dialogues! Constant peace and its preservation characterize the wisdom of civilized individuals."
Subsequently, the Chairman of the Constitutional Commission, Mr. Burhan Kuzu, took the floor and thanked the Chairman of Diplomaten International Dr. Günther Meinel very extensively for his tireless work to optimize and expand relations with Turkey. "We thank Dr. Günther Meinel on behalf of Turkey for his commitment, particularly to relations with Turkey and also his great contribution to Cyprus, which reflects positively on world peace. He has also influenced the de-escalation in Ukraine. Dr. Günther Meinel is for us a very important, calculable personality for Turkey, on whom we count with respect."
Dr. Günther Meinel gratefully accepted his prize and assured that he would continue to work sacrificially for world peace and also for positive relations with Turkey at all times. (Source Turkish Press)
A total of 1200 guests attended a very ceremonial event. Many publicly honored personalities were present. They made a promise to stand up even better together for peace and to organize a conference specifically for this purpose. Mr. Ferhat Bozcelik from the Board of Diplomaten International also received an award for his outstanding networking work in Turkey. A gigantic fireworks display finally concluded the awarding of the Peace Prize, and the prizes for culture and outstanding scientific achievements!
