Patronage for Youth Parliament

The Youth Parliament project is promoted and supported by all social institutions alongside the German Bundestag. The President of the NGO Diplomaten International, which is accredited with consultative status at the United Nations, Prof. Günther Meinel, and the Chairman of the Youth Parliament Vitalyi Krusch have actively advanced the project. Mr. Meinel has an interest in uniting young people from several countries. Young people from Europe and also Turkey should come together to discuss proposals on how we can maintain world peace and better live international understanding.

Patronage for Youth Parliament

The initially German-Russian Youth Parliament Bonn-Moscow has been accompanied since its founding in 2015 by State Parliament member Bernhard von Grünberg as mentor and advisor. Mr. von Grünberg always provides strong and reliable support to the Youth Parliament in the execution of projects and exchanges. In October 2016, he also supported the Youth Parliament with helpful advice and leadership of the exchange in Kaliningrad as well.

The German-Russian Youth Parliament Bonn-Kaliningrad-Moscow received great recognition in 2016 through the assumption of patronage by important personalities. The patronages not only symbolize the support of each person, but also stand for successful cooperation between the German-Russian Youth Parliament Bonn-Kaliningrad-Moscow and the patron. In 2016, the following assumed patronage of the Youth Parliament: the Lord Mayor of the Federal City of Bonn Ashok Sridharan, the Mayor of the City of Kaliningrad Alexander Yaroshuk, the German Consul General in Kaliningrad Dr. Michael Banzhaf, the Russian Consul General in Bonn Vladimir Sedykh, the Managing Board Member of the German-Russian Forum Martin Hoffmann and the President of the INGO Diplomaten International DMW, Prof. Günther Meinel.

The Lord Mayor of the Federal City of Bonn, Ashok Sridharan, thanks in his greeting the German-Russian Youth Parliament Bonn-Kaliningrad for its annual organization of meetings between young people. One thereby makes "an essential contribution to international understanding," because "getting to know and understanding different cultures are the basis for peaceful coexistence."

The Mayor of the City of Kaliningrad, Alexander Jaroshuk, expresses great praise for the German-Russian Youth Parliament Bonn-Kaliningrad-Moscow. In his letter to the young people, he describes the Youth Parliament as a "new impulse for cooperation" between the two cities.

The Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kaliningrad, Dr. Michael Banzhaf, also expresses praise and thanks in his greeting to the young people for their commitment and dedication. Youth exchange is "an essential element for shaping bilateral relations," because "encounters promote trust and mutual understanding, and these create the foundation for peaceful coexistence of states."

The Consul General of the Russian Federation in Bonn, Vladimir Sedykh, welcomes in his greeting the interest of young people in the respective other country despite the currently tense relations and emphasizes that the founding and activities of the Youth Parliament Bonn-Kaliningrad are of "immense importance."

The Managing Board Member of the German-Russian Forum e.V. Martin Hoffmann describes the German-Russian Youth Parliament Bonn-Kaliningrad-Moscow as a "bridge" in German-Russian relations and cites as a historical example the important role of young people in German-French understanding after the Second World War.

The President of Diplomaten International, Prof. Günther Meinel, expresses full trust to the Youth Parliament in his certificate of patronage "to live international understanding and thus make a peace contribution for a better world." Mr. Meinel completely relies on youth, "which knows how to deal with each other without prejudice."
