Forward-looking talks in Istanbul

Living together in honesty and peace for the good of our people remains our mission. Continuing the long-standing good relations between Turkey and Germany and helping to build economic cooperation are central tasks. Turkey can be relied upon; agreed partnerships will be fulfilled.

President Ugur Terzioglu was appointed an honorary member of DMW and joined the presidium. The Turkish press reported on it.

Important cooperation agreements were reached in education, energy, communications, food, and in planning shopping centers and theme parks.

Only with the support of the police and security services could the schedule be maintained. Agreements with Director General Fethi Simsek and Director General Emin Günal will begin in May 2011.

Istanbul, with its 14 million inhabitants, is a significant region for collaboration—comparable to all of Hungary with 9.9 million residents or the entire Baltic (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) with 7.9 million.

“Dear Chairman Günther Meinel, I was very pleased to meet you and would like to thank you sincerely for your letter of January 21, 2011. Working with you was a complete success. It was an honor for us to help secure the release of the two journalists Marcus Hellwig and Jens Koch so that they could safely return home. Since the Ottoman Empire, a long friendship between Turks and Germans has been maintained. Like every Turk, I greatly value keeping this relationship intact. I hope our cooperation deepens this friendship even further. Respectfully, Ugur Terzioglu.”

President Ugur Terzioglu is considered one of the architects of Turkey’s current development, a highly respected key figure. In addition to his friendship with Bill Clinton, he has direct access to Turkey’s leadership.

With Mövenpick Hotel Istanbul General Manager Frank Reichenbach, the cooperation event on June 16 and 17, 2011, was planned and confirmed. The Mövenpick Hotel, the “home hotel” of DMW, has received its third consecutive award as Istanbul’s best hotel.

Director General Emin Günay showcases his 27 companies.

German investors have already been invited. Accommodation will be at the Mövenpick Hotel. The visit is designed as an experience to ensure economic success and to enjoy Turkish hospitality. Project documents can be provided upon request.
